We here at Al Alameen offer The National Curriculum of England. The national curriculum is organized into blocks of years called ‘key stages’ (KS).
Along with the British curriculum the approved curriculum for Islamic Studies (Quran, Tajweed, Tasmea’) including Arabic is taught. Music has been taken out.
KEY STAGE 1 – 3 (GRADES 1 – 8)
The books are exclusively chosen according to age level and are equivalent to the standards of the national curriculum. The books come from different publishers including but not limited to Pearsons, Cambridge, Collins, Oxford, Nelson, and Schofield and Sims.
Apart from the usual weekly or bi-monthly quizzes, there are monthly continuous assessments and two final exams divided into two semesters. The monthly assessments marks are accumulated towards the end of each semester and are added to exam grades to achieve overall marks in each subjects.
Continuous assessment is conducted in many ways i.e. project making, written formative assessment, pop quiz, objective form like MCQs, open book independent activity, or in class guided activity etc..

Being an Associate School of Cambridge, Al Alameen registers the students directly via British Council. The results show the competency of each child in their core subjects.

Key Stage – 4 (IGCSE)
We offer a broad selection of IGCSEs for our students to recognize and develop their abilities from the very start. The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is one of the most profound certificates in the world. IGCSE courses are well known for developing vital educational skills, including recall of knowledge, oral skills, problem solving, initiatives, teamwork and investigative skills.
It is universally acknowledged that students of IGCSE system are the most outstanding and prominent students in the higher education since they study the basics of the modern science and technology according to the latest educational aids.
The idea of IGCSE is to give the students a broad general knowledge, from which they can then become increasingly specialized through A-levels and then their undergraduate degree (or, more specialized still, a Masters or PHD). IGCSE are like the broad base of the pyramid, with subsequent qualifications getting increasingly narrow in focus the further up the pyramid they go.
Our Core IGCSE Subjects Include
Mathematics · Three Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Biology) · English First Language Apart from these students are given a healthy choice to broaden their breadth of knowledge.
Our foundation IGCSE Subjects include
ICT · English Literature · Geography / Accounting · History / Business Studies · French
Many students will choose a good spread of subjects to keep their options open for further study (usually A Levels or careers). A reasonably broad portfolio of optional subjects is essential as this allows them to demonstrate strengths in different areas – universities and employers value this. However, breadth should be balanced against the need to play to their strengths and interests so as to generate the best possible grades and enjoyment of study. Al Alameen ensures the facts mentioned and guarantees the optimum benefit to our students
